(the catcher) in the Damn Yankees revival, he brought down the house at the end of every performance
of Victor / Victoria; he was the first replacement for Billy Flynn, he coulda/shoulda been nominated
as Andre in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels." While I've never shaken hands with Jbara, I'm also told that

("Billy Elliott, The Musical" topped the list with 15 nominations, including
Best Musical. Michigan native Greg Jbara, who portrays the father of the
title character, received a nomination for featured actor in a musical.
Jbara, who grew up outside Detroit, appeared in Grand Rapids last year as
part of the Duets fundraiser at Actors' Theatre.
West Michigan has another connection to "Billy Elliott." Thommie Retter,
who portrays one of the striking miners, grew up in Kentwood, where his
mother, Betty Retter, still runs Retter Dance Studio.)
